Configure Trunk User
This article provides steps for configuring Trunks for each user, choosing a default trunk, and assigning DIDs.
1. From Trunks, select Users.
2. Search for the user to configure, then click Configure Trunk User under the Outbound Trunk column.
3. Fill in the following Trunk Settings for the user.
- Assign Default DialPlan Policy: When checked, the Reseller-defined DialPlan policy is assigned to the user.
- Disable Teams Voicemail: When checked, this deactivates the Microsoft Teams voicemail, enabling the PBX's voicemail to take precedence.
- User Tag: This is optional. You can enter identifying text for this user, which will appear in relevant reports. For example, enter this user's identifier in your billing system.
- Trunk Profile: Select the desired Trunk Profile for the user. If only one is configured for the enterprise, then only one will display in this drop-down.
Notes:
- For new users, no new extensions can be added for new SIP Trunks configuration. Ensure the exact phone number is used.
- Support for existing users that have extensions would continue. Use the +CC<extension> format when modifying existing records. For example, +14312345678.
- Default DID: Select (or type, if allowed) the default phone number you want to assign to the Teams user. The phone numbers shown here are available on the Phone Numbers page as described in the Centralized DID Management guide.
- Forwarded DIDs: Select the desired DID to be forwarded to the user. The phone numbers shown here are available on the Phone Numbers page

4. Click Save Settings.
When users were added by anyone other than the Microsoft Global Admin, advise the Enterprise Global Admin login and click the Sync Teams Users button on the dashboard to finalize all changes.
This screenshot shows what the Microsoft Enterprise Global Admin sees when the Reseller makes changes to Users. The reseller can complete the sync when the enterprise admin grants consent, as described in this article, granting consent for enterprise management.
Provisioning a new user usually takes between 10 and 60 seconds but can take longer due to Microsoft load delays. Once successfully registered, the user will appear on the Enterprise Dashboard, as shown below. When Trunk and Teams Registration are completed successfully, the icons change to green checks, and a timestamp for the recent Trunk Registration will be displayed.
